Join the Android test
A notebook for passing thoughts — and coming back to them later.
Joined the group? There is one more step.
Group membership gives you access. You still need to opt in on Google Play before you can install.

Join the Google Group
Sign in with the Google account you use on your Android phone, then choose Join group. Already a member? Go straight to step 2.
1 · Open the tester groupBecome a tester on Play
Open the test invitation and select Become a tester (the wording may vary by language). Check that Google confirms you have joined. Joining the group alone does not complete this step.
2 · Join the Play testInstall Idea Rewind
After Play confirms enrollment, follow its download link or use the button below on your Android phone. Keep the same account selected in the Play Store.

“Not invited” or “App not available”
Check the account on all three pages first. Confirm you joined the group and completed step 2, then check the region list above. If access has not updated yet, try again later. Share the exact message with us if it persists; do not send passwords, verification codes or account details.
The app does not appear in Play search
This is a closed test. Use the installation link in step 3 after joining, rather than searching for the app name.
The browser works, but the phone cannot install
Check which Google account is selected in the phone’s Play Store. It must match the account used to join. Check device compatibility and the region list; use the original recruitment thread or our support page if you need help.
Already in an internal test?
Google treats internal and closed tests separately. If you intentionally joined our internal test before, contact us to check the correct path. Do not uninstall the app or clear its data to troubleshoot access.
Once installed, try one ordinary note.
- Write a few words, switch apps, return and save. Did your draft stay?
- Optionally add a sample photo, short recording or video. Reopen it and try playback.
- Come back to one unfinished thought a few days later. Did you continue it, keep it for later, or finish with it?
Please remain opted in for 14 consecutive days and use the app naturally in a few sessions. You can leave voluntarily; there is no daily check-in or need to leave the app running.
Checkout is disabled in this build. No purchase, public rating, review or test exchange is requested. Local notes need no Idea Rewind account or phone number; optional cloud setup can be skipped. Start with non-private sample notes.
Feedback: Settings → Feedback in the app, or the original recruitment thread. Include the step, expected result, actual result, phone model and Android version. No personal notes or account details are needed.
